The project "E-Destination” funded by Internationale Bodenseehochschule (IBH) aims to show whether and in what form electro-mobility can play a bigger role regarding tourism in the rural region of Lake Constance (in German: Bodensee), Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Arrival, departure and to a lesser extent mobility within a destination, are producing the most CO2 in tourism, but also offer the greatest potential for emission reduction (cf. Scott, Peeters, & Gössling 2010). Thus CO2 savings in tourism mobility are by far the largest thrust towards a more sustainable tourism (cf. Thiel, Nijs, Simoes, Schmidt, van Zyl & Schmid 2016). For the Lake Constance region, increasing the share of e-mobility in the remote area is the particular challenge.
