The Africa Foundation a non-profit organization was founded in 1992 when Conservation Corporation Africa (since renamed and rebranded to &Beyond) was founded in South Africa. A central principle of the Conservation Corporation, safari lodge business model was the belief that the involvement and economic development of the communities surrounding wildlife conservation areas were essential to the success of lodge operations. The Africa Foundation was set up to uplift, up-skill and empower rural communities and enable conservation within communities living adjacent to conservation areas in Africa. Africa Foundation is committed to working with these communities to identify, fund and build projects in the areas of education, healthcare and clean water, income generating activities and wildlife and environment
