This paper details the development, delivery and outcomes of a Masters course in Tourism Development that was delivered by the Royal University of Phnom Penh, with the assistance and support of the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and the University of Bologna, Italy (UNIBO). The paper will first outline the magnitude of tourism activity in Cambodia. This is then used as the context for developing a model for tourism education in Cambodia. The approach to the development of this particular Masters course is then outlined. This paper concludes by assessing the outcomes of the course in terms of lessons for other countries introducing tourism education and its effectiveness and appropriateness for Cambodia itself.
