We would like to introduce our newest BEST EN Executive committee member, Wolfgang Strasdas.

Dr. Wolfgang Strasdas has been a professor for sustainable tourism since 2002. Coming from a background of natural resource management, his research and teaching focusses on tourism in protected areas and the impacts of climate change. Tourism in developing countries (especially in Southern Africa) and certification systems for sustainable tourism are further fields of activity.

Applying research results in the “real world” and making sustainable tourism happen have always been of prime concern. Thus, Wolfgang is on the advisory boards of various industry organisations and a jury member for a number of sustainable tourism awards, both in Germany and internationally. He is also involved with TourCert, Germany’s leading CSR certification scheme for tourism.

Wolfgang has attended three Think Tanks so far and has gladly accepted BEST EN’s invitation to host the 2016 Think Tank in Berlin-Eberswalde.
