To produce a set of model curricula on the subject of Sustainable Tourism to be distributed at no cost to educational institutions and professional tourism organizations throughout the world.

Prime objectives included:

1. To foster learning and networking among both scholars and practitioners in travel, tourism and hospitality and related fields of endeavour and;
2. To produce curricular modules that incorporate sustainability into the teaching of operations and transportations for undergraduate courses worldwide. A total of 16 Universities and 9 countries were represented at this conference.
