In 2006, the BEST Education Network co-hosted a one-day Ph.D. Workshop with MAST of the University of Southern Denmark and the University of Girona. The event took place immediately before the BEST EN Think Tank VI, on June 12th. Twenty Ph.D. students researching in the field of sustainable tourism and/or international tourism were invited to participate at no cost. They had been selected based on the thesis content submitted beforehand. An important part of the workshop was the panels of senior international tourism academics that provided feedback and facilitated discussion on the work of the Ph.D. students.
