A multi-disciplinary Doctorate Research School for Studies in Marine and Coastal Environment, Heritage and Sustainable Tourism (MAST) has been established at the University of Southern Denmark.

MAST builds on the successful completion of MARINERS, which was supported by the Danish Council for Research Training in 2001-2004. The proposed name change reflects the fact that studies in sustainable tourism and leisure management has developed as a strong new agenda for the research school.
